Name/Nicknames: Phoenix, P-Diddy

My Story: Phoenix came from a rough situation in Northern Minnesota. Phoenix has had some wonderful foster families who have worked on getting him healed physically. Because of what happened to him in his past life, Phoenix can be a little shy meeting people, but it doesn't take long for his true colors and spirit to show.

Hobbies: Phoenix loves to play with other dogs. He also would like to continue his dog park membership when he joins his new family! Watching Phoenix run at the dog park is really quite the experience.

Commands/Tricks: Sit, Lay Down, Come, Stay, Shake, Leave It, Back, Off, Kennel Up. Phoenix is a sponge and learns very quickly, but you have to prove to him that it's worth it. Phoenix will benefit from obedience with his new famly to reinforce the bonding process and since he knows so much already, he'll be a teacher's pet!

Crate / Potty Trained:Phoenix is 100% housetrained. Phoenix is also used to a crate and will go in there when told to.

Activity Level: Phoenix has shown that he will adapt to the activity around him. A good play session with another dog or running around in the yard will often be enough. He would enjoy a long walk as well, and with the fall colors, it's the perfect time to be walking him!

Fun things I do: Phoenix will rub up again people he likes as if he 's a cat - a large, baby giraffe sized cat! Phoenix loves toys, and loves to play with other dogs. Phoenix is a great car dog. Window down, window up, he doesn't care; he's just along for the ride. Phoenix also LOVES the dog park!

Socialization/who I currently live with:Phoenix currently lives with 2 other dogs who he gets along with well. He is in an adult household, but has also lived with a child in a previous foster home and did well with her.

My Ideal Family:Phoenix can be shy around some men and in new situations, but will warm up very quickly. Phoenix would do best with another active, playful dog around his size in the home. Dog-savvy owners and older kids would be a great fit! Phoenix woud also benefit from an adoptive family who will still get him out and about to help him meet new people - and who wouldn't want to meet this handsome guy?




Phoenix is attending Pet Haven's medium/large dog adoption events and his adoption fee is $300 (cash or check only) and includes spay/neuter, heartworm check, current vaccinations, and microchip and registration.
Due to post-adoption services provided, it is Pet Haven's policy to only place dogs into homes within a 60-mile radius of the Twin Cities area.
