Meet Astor

I always thought "Astor" was a woman's name, but this Astor is a male, born sometime in 2004. He was adopted from Tabby's Place some years ago with another of our cats, Oscar. The two were returned by their owner who explained that there were family reasons for their return; it was nothing that either cat had done.

Astor is, frankly, obese; there's just no other way to describe it. That can be especially inconvenient in his case. You see, Astor is extremely affectionate with people. Often, sitting on your lap isn't enough for him. He'll rear up on his hind legs and drape both paws over your shoulder or plant one paw on either side of your neck. He'll stay in that position, purring, for as long as you'll allow him to do so. But he weighs so much that it's like having an overly-large child install himself in your lap.

We'd love to find Astor a good home where he'll be properly cherished (and put on a diet). Although he and Osca lived together for some years, they are not particularly close and do not need to be adopted together.
