Meet Fayth RIP

7/18 update: Sadly the night of the day these recent photos were taken of Fayth, she died. We don't know if her heart gave out or what happened. She was moved to a new foster home, ate a bowl of food before dark, and then found the next morning on the doggie bed, deceased. No outward wounds, so her heart may have given out. So very sad for all involved in her recovery over the recent months. She had doubled her weight, had all her hair back and looked great, as you can see in her photos. We hope she knew that she was finally loved and that she cared to somebody. May you finally rest in peace dear Fayth....

5/10 update: Vet said she can be released from hospital and is fine to go to her happily ever after home, if one can be found. Please lets find her a loving, caring home. She is more than ready and so deserving after what she has been through!

4/27 update: Fayth is doing better and was able to be spayed today. Still in need of a home, however!

This girl was dumped night of 4/11 in the rain with another severely neglected dog. Both are suffering so much that they could barely walk. This soul is in the worse shape and may have to be PTS. Prayers for her please. She was too weak to stand to eat, but managed enough energy to give a little tail wag. She probably knows someone FINALLY cares. I sure hope she can be saved. Fayth has received Revolution for sacrcoptic mange and other meds. She weighs about 45#, is about 7 years old and had tape worms as well. Heartworm negative, at least. This dog had BOTH sarcoptic and demodectic mange.

Dogs in the Rowan County K-9 Shelter receive their first dhppl vaccination (parvo/distemper) upon arrival at the pound. Rabies vaccine and spay/neuter surgery can be done for the $50 adoption fee. Please note rabies vaccine and surgeries are NOT done on site and dogs must be adopted before they receive rabies vaccine or surgery.
