Being fostered in Warren, Ohio:
Ruger is a year-and-a-half-old shepard/lab/mastiff mix. He is neutered, heartworm-tested, wormed, up-to-date on vaccines and microchipped. He is extremely intelligent and as gentle as they come. He doesn't get on the furniture or bed unless he is invited. Once he gets an invitation, though, you have a 70-pound lap dog! He is house broken and would do best with a family with kids, another dog, or better yet, both! He is very submissive with other dogs and cats. He enjoys when the cats bat him and doesn't bother to chase them. He stays in the yard as long as you are with him and will walk through the woods with his foster mom off-leash and stay close by. He would prefer not to be alone all day while his family is at work (he LOVES to be with his people!), so a home with a part-time, work-from-home or stay-at-home parent would be ideal. He loves to play with his foster mom's 7- and 12-year-old nieces and doesn't care what they do to him. He enjoys playing fetch and loves to chew bones but his favorite thing to do is wrestle with another dog.
