POOH BEAR Pit Bull Terrier Mix Hamilton, NJ

Meet Pooh Bear, a sweet 2-year old, 50-pound pit bull terrier mix waiting for her big break in life. Pooh Bear was rescued from a home where she was being kept in the basement with another dog when the original owner could no longer care for her.

Unfortunately, Pooh Bears bad misfortunes don't end there. She was bitten on the ear by the other dog in a fight over food. The bite was not treated until she was rescued and was badly infected. Our veterinarian performed extensive surgery and was able to save the ear itself but had to close up her ear cavity, so she is now deaf in one ear. After spending a week at our veterinary hospital she is now in a foster home.

Pooh Bear is spayed, up to date on shots and now in good health. She is housebroken and has a mellow, easy going temperament. She is crate trained and loves to sleep in her crate even when the door is open. She loves her toys & a game of fetch with a ball or stick. She likes to talk, especially when she is offered a treat, she will give you a “woo woo” in appreciation. She loves to be pet and has the cutest little wiggle when she is happy. She is currently fostered with and does get along well with other dogs. She just needs to be separated at dinnertime due to her past experience. She also is exposed to cats for the first time & behaves very well with them. She is still adjusting to her disability and would probably not do well with very young children. She knows some commands but could use some more training to help her deal with her hearing loss. Give her attention and she’ll shower you with kisses.
