THANK YOU FOR CONSIDERING A SPECIAL NEEDS DOG. THIS IS A SPECIAL NEEDS DOG. MEDICALLY, ENVIRONMENTALLY AND BEHAVIORALLY. PLEASE, READ THE BO BEFORE ASKING IF HE IS AVAILABLE. WE ARE SEEKING A SAFE HOME FOR FRANK BUT HE IS SAFE IN FOSTER CARE AND WILL REMAIN HAPPILY THERE UNLESS AND LOVING UNDERSTANDING MATCH IS FOUND. TO AN APPROVED SPECIAL HOME THAT IS ABLE TO MANAGE THESE NEEDS. MAIN ISSUES: HEAT MEDICALLY FRAGILE, EAR ISSUES, HEAT FRAGILE, 75% DEAF AND VISION IMPAIRED. THIS MAKES HIM DEAF AND BLIND IN MANY SITUATIONS. THIS ISSUE WILL CONTINUE TO GET WORSE WITH AGE. HE IS NOT BEING COMPLETELY HOUSE BROKEN AND NEEDS TO WEAR A BELLY BAND WHILE INSIDE AND HE WILL MARK AND YES IT IS FRUSTRATING. APPLICANTS MUST BE IN WESTERN WASHINGTON. FRANKIE IS A HAPPY BOY EVEN WITH HIS CHALLENGES. HIS ISSUES REQUIRE EXTRA CARE AND UNDERSTANDING. THANK YOU FOR LOOKING AND CONSIDERING A SPECIAL NEEDS DOG.

This companion animals name is Frankie. Frankie is a gentle loving 13 year old fawn and black pug that wants to be with people and hang out. He loves everyone. He is a good sport about everything and does not know how to not be a persons buddy. He knows basic commands and can walk on lead. He is crate trained but cannot be crate for long period or in the hot weather and has been known to want out of his crate and gets worked up. He must be crated when you are not watching him of he will potty in the house. Frankie has some flaws. He is vision and hearing impaired. He can see but not well in the dark and he does not hear well at but is not deaf. He probably will be at some point. He is usually good with others but occasionally can be a bit jerky to other dogs. He will mark in the house if left alone or sometimes for no good reason so he must be crated when not supervised. He like many pugs just never got the total house breaking thing. He would need an owner that is willing to keep a belly band on him as needed. We use # 6 huggies diapers. It helps if he goes outside a lot but does not stop the behavior completely. Being attentive definitely helps. If you are sensitive about dogs lifting their legs or having accidents Frank is not the dog for you. A home with no carpet would be helpful. He also is a fecal eater which is totally gross so we need him to go to a home with no other dogs or someone that scoops often. I know it sounds nasty and is but it is a common issue with dogs. He is really ingrained in this habit. We don't see an issue here and should not be elsewhere if one monitors him while with other dogs and unless he is in a yard that is not cleaned up as it should be. Frankie like many pugs is also severely heat sensitive and cannot be out in the hot weather. He is not available outside the Western Washington area. frank is prone to ear issues like many pugs. He is also very vision and hearing impaired. He must have a fenced yard no exceptions. He is not perfect but he is super sweet and looks at his people with adoration that one can spend a lifetime looking for. We are seeking a home that will love him and adore him back even with his not so pretty flaws.. Mandatory fenced yard. FENCE IS MANDATORY - NO EXCEPTION PLEASE DON'T ASK. No apartments. Some Condos and homes with a private use fenced yard maybe considered. No children under 5 years of age. Sponsor donation to help Frankie is 200.00.
