Meet APPLE DUMPLIN'

Little Apple Dumplin' was brought to us by a couple who found him in their garage, sitting in their apple bin, just munching away on apples. He is approx.
a year to two years of age. Dumplin', as we call him, is afraid of most new people. He will run when you reach for him. We are working with him and Dumplin' is coming around nicely for us. He is now sitting with us in the evening to watch the tube and plays kissy face with my husband when we go to bed. He jumps right in after my husband gets in bed and kiss's him all over the head and face. He then sleeps with me on my side of the bed.
He is getting better with meeting new people when he is wearing his Thunder shirt. If he is not he will still bark and back away.
Dumplin' is playful and he enjoys the company of the other dogs we have here. Likes to play with toys. Will carry your shoes off to parts unknown if you leave them lay around but does not chew them.
At this point I would not recommend children at all as their quick movements would only increase his fear level.
Cats, he likes to chase BUT he does have one that lives with us that he is friends with and they play together. If the cats run he does like to chase but if they are OK with him he is fine with them. Dumplin' will certainly make someone a wonderful sweet little friend if they are willing to give him time and work with him on his fear issues. It could take month's till he trusts you fully.
Dumplin' IS a sweet, lovable, fun little guy and waiting for his forever home. Someone to give him a chance, to shine and brighten your life as well as his!

UPDATE: We have been using a thunder shirt for Dumplin' and it works miracles! Yesterday Dumplin' was part of a local Halloween parade. I carried him half way. About a quarter of the way through he started to check things out so we decide to let him walk after the 1/2 way point. He was glued to me at first but then started walking beside his buddy Beegee. In no time he was pulling ahead. Walking with this tail up and head up. Proud as can be. Not flinching from people. This is a break thru for him.
Dumplin' will not be considered for adopt to someone who does NOT have a fenced yard. Even though he does trust us in the house you can not touch him or get near him in the yard. If he would get away from you and you do not have a fenced yard he will be gone!
