Meet Benoit

Benoit (a/k/a "Ben") lives up to his name which is French for "blessed." Whoever adopts Ben will be blessed with a delightful companion. He is a lovely caramel color with four white socks, a white-tipped tail, and a white blaze that runs down the middle of his face a bit to the left (symmetry is so last year), and a gorgeous white chest. Ben is estimated to be less than one-year old, weighing about 40 pounds and is about 20 inches tall. He is great with cats and other dogs, crate trained and house broken. He is low to medium energy in that he likes to play and run around, but will then crash for a long nap. Easy to walk on a leash, loves toys and is overall very good natured. Ben is one of those great family dogs; fun, easy going, affectionate, well mannered and confident. He gets along well with all his foster family members, including a 13 year old girl, dogs, cats, and horses. He has no bad habits, but as with all new dogs, his adopting family will have to keep fairly close tabs on him and teach him the ground rules of his new home. His foster family believes that Ben would enjoy being with another dog - male or female, but an active family with children will be just fine too. A fenced yard would be delightful, but he is content to be walked on a leash. For more adorable pics on Benoit, go to our facebook page...Louisa Humane Society.

Benoit's adoption fee is $150. Benoit is completely vetted; neutered, heartworm tested negative, up-to-date on all vaccines, plus rabies, wormed, deflead, and currently on heartworm preventative meds as well as a flea/tick preventative.
If you are interested in meeting Benoit, please fill out an adoption application at www.louisahumanesociety.com, click on the “paw” for Adoption Application. Once submitted, the vet reference you provided will be contacted (if no vet, please provide 3 personal references, may be family and friends as long as they have a dog that you interact with) and then once approved, you will be contacted by the foster parent to discuss the animal and arrange the logistics for a visit.

Our rescue group does not have a brick and mortar facility, all our animals are home fostered in our volunteer’s houses. You will be visiting a private residence. The application does not oblige you to adopt, nor does the visitation; the application just gives us more info to help ensure a good match.

Our policy is that we always take our animals back should it prove to be a less than perfect match, or if you are unable or unwilling to care for the animal any longer. We just don't want the animal to go back into the system.

Thank you for considering an unwanted and abandoned dog, and being part of the rescue efforts.
