Meet Captain Jack

Captain Jack 10 yrs Neutered/Male
One-eyed, Hyperthyroid, FIV +

Captain Jack is a very handsome one-eyed 10 year old guy, a very good looking orange & white short hair with as easy care coat and loving purrsonality. Origionally from a Burlington area shelter, Captain Jack currently resides in a Burlington area vet clinic where he awaits another chance at a Forever Home. A polite, very affectionate and people oriented guy, Captain Jack tolerates dogs and will do well with another cat (who also should be positive for FIV) or will be just fine as an only pet where he can be given plenty of love and affection.

Currently very healthy and with up to date vaccinations, Captain Jack has tested positive for FIV - this is an immune depressive disease which means he's got a lower immune system than healthy cats, but he's currently in great shape. It's essential a cat who has tested positive for FIV enter a home with a conscientious pet owner - yearly vet checks are absolutely required, and vaccines are even more important for an FIV + cat who is even more dependant on the protection vaccination offers from routine illnesses.

Captain Jack does require medication - he's been diagnosed as Hyperthyroid and requires one small and easy to give pill twice daily to maintain his condition. His medication is not only easy to give, but it's quite inexpensive and this issue is easy to maintain with oral medication and occasional blood testing to ensure Captain Jack's level remain within normal ranges.

Captain Jack is a very handsome boy, with the sweetest disposition, the staff caring for him at the vet clinic are very taken with him and want so badly for him to find a family to love. With their help, his good looks and great nature, we sure hope Captain Jack will be lucky enough to catch your eye, tug at your heart-strings, and that he will be the lucky one who gets to go Home with YOU!
