Meet Static

Ever watch "Little Rascals" and want a dog just like Petey?!?! Keep Reading!

Static is still a puppy, but you wouldn't know it if you hang out with him for a little bit. Although he is excited to meet new people, he settles down quickly and is an absolute love! He is house trained, crate trained, wonderful to walk with, great with other dogs (very submissive to the two dominant females he lives with), fantastic with the cat, and a joy to have around the kids.

Static is currently living with a 1 year old who loves to kiss him and dress him up with beads. She also steps on him and pulls on him, but he just gives her kisses. The other day, he played in the yard with two other dogs and a 3 year old little girl. It was hilarious to hear her run around saying "chase me Static, chase me!" and to watch him gently trot after her. He didn't jump on her or anything! Just would trot up to her and kiss her gently.

Static is so crate trained that if he sees the bag of rawhides he runs to the crate (where he can have one) and if you go into the bedroom (where his sleeping crate is) even just to change clothes, he goes and lays down in his crate without asking. He is so mellow in the house that sometimes we forget he is there until we trip over him. He is a great companion dog and loves to follow us from room to room. He would do best with a family that wants to spend time with him either at home or on walks. Speaking of walks, we take him on walks with the stroller and just tie him to the stroller and walk and he will walk with a lose leash. The only time he pulls (with a training collar) is when he sees another dog or person that he wants to play with.

Outside in the yard, Static is very playful with other dogs. He loves to get them to chase him up and down the yard. Static would love to go to a home with another dog to play with outside. Although we have not left him home alone for extended periods of time (2-3 hours) he has not had an accident yet and he seems to be mostly over his chewing phase as long as he is provided one chewy treat a day (rawhide).

Static is a true joy to share our home with and his forever-family is going to be very lucky.

Static is sure to bring hours of fun into your life, and he only asks for a few simple things in return: yummy food, water, a nice cozy spot to sleep in, and most of all - lots of TLC!!!

****His adoption fee is $225.****

The Animal Rescue Project is committed to the best possible veterinary care for the pets it rescues—and it is looking for adopters who will be similarly committed.

All dogs and puppies are given a general check-up when they enter our program. They receive medication to remove any intestinal parasites (worms), fleas, and ticks they may have. Dogs greater than six months of age are checked for heartworm. If heartworm positive, the Animal Rescue Project treats the disease. Dogs and pups receive all age-appropriate vaccinations for distemper, and dogs greater than four months of age are also vaccinated for rabies, in compliance with State of Michigan laws.

Most dogs and older puppies are spayed or neutered before adoption. In the case of puppies not old enough to be safely sterilized, a $25 deposit is required at the time of adoption and is refunded to the adopter with proof of sterilization.

All Animal Rescue Project pets also receive a Home Again microchip prior to adoption and one month of free medical insurance. The Animal Rescue Project requires every adopter to establish an active relationship with a veterinarian no later than 10 days after adoption. Adopters will receive a plan for routine veterinary care at the time of adoption and are expected to work with their vet to complete the plan.
