Sahara Yellow Labrador Retriever Mix Williamsport, PA

Hi, my name is Sahara. I am a two-year-old, spayed female, Retriever mix. You have to understand my background to understand my timid behavior. I was found on January 24th tied out in the middle of a field along with 8 other dogs. We had absolutely no shelter or anything warm to lay on, it was just us tied apart from each other, on the snow with the temperature below zero. It is a surprise all of us made it out of there without some kind of serious injury. We are all doing very well here considering what we went through. To top it off I had recently had four puppies that were found cold and alone in a cement garage. All you mothers know what it is like to be pregnant and then carrying for a small baby. Imagine being stuck in the freezing temperatures without proper nutrition trying to take care of your little ones. Suprisingly the people who had us had enough heart to stick my babies in the small amount of shelter that they did because they probably would not have survived too much longer in those conditions. Thankfully they have all been adopted into loving homes already, now it is my turn to get to feel what a real home is like. I am a very sweet girl that loves getting attention but am too scared to ask sometimes. I am starting to show my true personality the more I realize that I will get food and basics every single day. I would do much better in a home though where my family can give me one-on-one attention and have the time and patience to show me how a real pet lives. I have not played with toys here yet, but I have been showing interest, so I am sure I will be running around playing in no time. I will obviously need worked with on my house manners, such as potty training, but with firm yet loving encouragement I should master those in no time.
