Alice ADOPTED English Bulldog & American Bulldog Mix Amherst, VA

Alcie is our most affectionate dog in the building - STAFF FAVORITE, she is so calm and easy going - she would do well in either a laid back home or in an active home. You won't find a more affectionate gal around, Alice is always up and on her feet at the glance of a visitor to the shelter. Alice was adopted from our shelter a few months back but would be better suited in a different home. She's a sweet gal (at the age of 6 and weighing 60 lbs.). She wants nothing more than to be petted, spoiled & she sure does enjoy a good walk. Alice is leash trained and housebroken. We're unsure of her around children because her deafness means she startles easily, but she is fairly comfortable with our neighbor's child. She is jealous of other dogs but not overtly aggressive, but this largely depends on the other dog in question. It might be better for her to be in a home without other dogs as when other dogs startle her (since she doesn't hear them approaching her) she slightly reacts to defend herself. Alice just wants someone to care for her, keep her company and let her have a nice place to sleep. She does need either senior or gentle food for her sensitive stomach. Alice is overall a fantastic dog who really just wants to make you happy.

Deafness in white dogs isn't all that uncommon and other than not hearing your approach she's perfect in every other way.
