Benji Havanese Rigaud, QC

We have been hearing many stories lately of unthinkable cruelty to animals and Benji's is one of those. On New Year's Eve, an evening stroll was interrupted by cries coming from a dumpster. The kindhearted people retrieved a very frightened, dirty, unkempt and skinny Benji from the dumpster and brought him to safety. He is now under Kiko's care and thanks to the lady who first took him in, he has started learning what it's like to be loved and well taken care of. Benji was born around June 2010 and already asks for the door when he needs to go out. He appears to be experiencing some separation anxiety, perhaps due to his ordeal in the dumpster. Benji's foster has started getting him used to being alone by leaving him for short periods of time. Benji would still, however, do best in a family where either someone is home most of the time or in one where he can accompany his people to work. He is playful and energetic, wonderfully behaved in the car and gets along with other dogs. Benji is also gentle with children. Benji will be neutered prior to his adoption.
