Meet Tessa

Tessa is a very dominant female that chooses not to be social around many other dogs, and definitely not cats. She will need a strong willed owner, but is a nice dog once away from the shelter atmosphere. Great on a leash, once past other dogs. Would not be one to take to a public dog park. Tessa has been with us for a few months while we try to work the kinks out. In her prior home, she was teased relentlessly by small children, thus she does not care for them. She can be intimidating but when you have the time to be with her, she is quite nice, allows you to do anything to her, wags, and kisses. She is just a tough cookie, has had to be. Tessa needs a break in her life and a good home would be a terrific start.
Adopted for two years by an older gentleman where she did great. Surrendered to us as he is now deceased. Tessa did well and loved the farm life. Faithful and dedicated in every way.
