Meet Roxie

Roxie is a darling Lab/Retriever mix. She's 2 years old and weighs 36 pounds. She has beautiful brindle coat, long floppy ears and her eyes are a lovely shade of brown - one look into them and you'll be hooked!

Roxie is a very sweet, social and happy-go-lucky girl. She's being socialized with people and other animals, and she loves everyone she meets! She's a real crowd favorite when she attends special events due to her super friendly personality! She also loves car rides and makes a perfect travel companion! Roxie is sure to bring hours of fun into your life, and she only asks for a few simple things in return: yummy food, water, a nice cozy spot to sleep in, and most of all - lots of TLC!!!

****Her adoption fee is $195.****

The Animal Rescue Project is committed to the best possible veterinary care for the pets it rescues—and it is looking for adopters who will be similarly committed.

All dogs and puppies are given a general check-up when they enter our program. They receive medication to remove any intestinal parasites (worms), fleas, and ticks they may have. Dogs greater than six months of age are checked for heartworm. If heartworm positive, the Animal Rescue Project treats the disease. Dogs and pups receive all age-appropriate vaccinations for distemper, and dogs greater than four months of age are also vaccinated for rabies, in compliance with State of Michigan laws.

Most dogs and older puppies are spayed or neutered before adoption. In the case of puppies not old enough to be safely sterilized, a $25 deposit is required at the time of adoption and is refunded to the adopter with proof of sterilization.

All Animal Rescue Project pets also receive a Home Again microchip prior to adoption and one month of free medical insurance. The Animal Rescue Project requires every adopter to establish an active relationship with a veterinarian no later than 10 days after adoption. Adopters will receive a plan for routine veterinary care at the time of adoption and are expected to work with their vet to complete the plan.
