Moto (NC) Chinese Crested Dog & Pug Mix Durham, NC

Hi, my name is Moto and I am one macho man! I am a hairless Chinese Crested/Pug mix and quite the looker if I must say. Just look at my face--how can you resist a mug like that? I have dark chocolate skin, strawberry blonde fuzz on my head, a solid, muscular build, long legs, and the cutest corkscrew tail. Have you ever seen the likes of me before? My approximate birth date is April 3, 2009. I am neutered (yes, I can still be macho), HW negative and up-to-date on all my shots. I weigh approximately 16 pounds. I look rather tough on the outside, but I’m as sweet as molasses on the inside.

I love people and am not at all shy about meeting new faces. I haven't been around many young children but I know I do fine with older children. I adore getting lots and lots and lots of attention and will get a bit jealous when one of the other dogs is getting more than me, but I’m not mean about it, I just nudge my way in and nudge them out. What can I say! Love me and only me! I’m a great lap dog and love to have my neck massaged, my head rubbed, my face mushed and to be covered in kisses. I also love to be covered with a blanket while I sleep. I just absolutely love my blanket so much so that I will bunch up the blanket, stuff it in my mouth and suck on it while I knead it like a kitten. I can put myself to sleep doing this. (Don’t tell anyone as this does nothing for my macho image, but I’m told I look just adorable doing it)!

I get along with the other dogs although sometimes I get a little too bossy, especially with other male dogs. I am a dog that is full of energy and highly excitable. When I get excited I will bounce from chair to chair to sofa and off the walls if I could. Although I love to play with the other dogs, when I do and get a little too excited, play can turn into squabbling and I have to get reprimanded and must calm down. It is definitely a requirement that my new home have a fenced-in yard for me to run around in to work off some of my excess energy. I am not a dog that would do well in an apartment. I don’t hurt cats although I do like to chase them around the house so I’m probably not the best dog to have around if you have cats that are easily stressed. I have a bit of separation anxiety, but only when I’m outside and someone leaves the yard through the gate. I will run in circles and bark until I pant. I do not do this when I am inside the house and someone leaves the room or the house, only when I am outside and see someone leave through the gate.

I am house trained, but occasionally I will mark in the house and I wear a belly band when unattended, just to be safe. I am crate trained and will go into my crate without a fuss and stay there quite peacefully if I have too. I am fine with getting baths, but I absolutely hate getting my nails cut and will raise holy heck and have to be muzzled.
