Meet Parsnip and Turnip

Update 7-5-12 Parsnip and Turnip are our longest bunny residents to date. They would love to go to a home together as they are bonded. Parsnip (an English Spot, spayed female) and Turnip (a Dwarf, neutered male) were removed from a home where they were not being properly cared for. They kick nervously when picked up and can be territorial so they are recommended for experienced rabbit enthusiasts. They should be allowed to freely romp around children to interact at their own choosing. This way they can decide on their own if they feel threatened and they can simply hop away. Children should not be permitted to pick them up or to reach into their cage. They are very curious and are good fun during free-range playtime. They have some rough edges to smooth out, but with a patient and gentle owner, they should be able to become affectionate and interactive members of the family. Children under 10 should NOT be permitted to lift a rabbit- it simply isn't safe for the child or the rabbit. Please fill out an application at griffinpondanimalshelter.com if you are interested in adopting a small animal. The adoption fee for these two TOGETHER is $120. This includes their spay/neuter surgeries and their identifying microchips.
