Skippy Pit Bull Terrier Mix Darlington, MD

Update:  Skippy  has been adopted!



Skippy is a very handsome male Pit Bull, he is up to date on shots, heartworm negative, on preventative, neutered and is micro-chipped.

Skippy is such a very sweet boy with people but sadly Skippy is not good with any other animal and needs to be the only pet in the home with an experienced Pit Bull owner. 


What we were told by the shelter manager "while Skippy was a stray, he wandered over to a fenced yard with another dog in it, for whatever reason he and Skippy got into a fight through the fence. Skippy’s front leg became caught in the fence, by the time AC got there Skippy’s leg was mauled beyond repair. AC took Skippy to the shelter vet who determined it was beyond repair and amputated his leg."


Understandably this would traumatize any dog, some to the point of disliking or being afraid of other dogs. It just breaks our hearts to see Skippy sit in boarding at our vet day after day but the few foster homes we have, all have dogs which has made finding a foster home for Skippy impossible. Thankfully a nice gentleman generously pays Skippy's pal Diego to come three times a week and take Skippy for a ride and short walks.  Skippy really deserves so much more, he deserves to have his own family who will love him as he will love them.
