Meet Castiel

Castiel (aka Cass) is a four to six year old copper-eyed white persian. He is fully vetted (neutered, FIV/FELV negative, vaccinated, microchipped, wormed, flea treated) and ready for his forever home. Cass has been with us over a year due to medical concerns. He was diagnosed with chronic anemia; we treated aggressively for blood parasites, which greatly improved his red blood cell count. Cass' red blood cell count has stabilized, he is putting on weight, is more energetic, ect. Our vet is of the opinion that Cass' red blood cell count will always be a little under the average range, but that this is Cass' normal level. I would, however, recommend periodic blood work to make sure Cass stays health and well.

Cass is a sweet boy - he's a typical persian, easy going, pretty self-sufficient, non-demanding. He gets along well with other animals (although he's not crazy about dogs - he does tolerate them! lol!).

Adoption donation - $150.

Sorry, we do not ship our cats or provide any transportation. All potential adopters should reside in Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, New Mexico, or Louisiana. We will not adopt outside of these states.

Who We Are: We are a not-for-profit organization who is committed to helping Persians, Himalayans, exotic shorthairs, and ragdolls. All of our expenses are funded by personal and private donations. All of our cats are kept in foster homes - please note, we do not have a shelter facility, so appointments must be made prior to visiting foster homes. All of our cats are spayed/neutered, FIV/FELV tested, wormed, de-fleaed, and vaccinated prior to adoption.

Adoption Process: We require all potential adopters to fill out an adoption application prior to setting up an appointment to visit with the cat(s). We conduct veterinary and personal reference checks during the application approval process. If you email us, we will provide you with an application by email.

Adoption Fees: Our adoption donation for persian, himalayan, ragdoll and Maine Coon breeds are as follows: adult cat is $150, a kitten is $175 to $275 - depending on age, gender, and breed of kitten. Other breeds may have differing adoption donation amounts, depending on the rarity of the breed (for example exotic shorthair adults are $200, rex breeds are $250 and up). Declawed cats add $25 to adoption donation. We occasionally have reduced fees - these will be noted on the individual cat's listing. If someone adopts more then one cat from us, we will reduce the subsequent adoption fee(s) by $25 to $50 (depending on age of cats/kittens adopted). WE ONLY ACCEPT ADOPTION DONATIONS MADE WITH CASH - WE DO NOT ACCEPT CHECKS! DONATIONS (NOT ASSOCIATED WITH AN ADOPTION) AND DEPOSITS CAN BE MADE BY DEBIT/CREDIT CARD THROUGH PAYPAL. The adoption fees help defray SOME of the costs associated with rescuing/fostering these kitties. Except for the persian, himalayan, and exotic shorthair cats listed on this site, South Texas Persian Rescue cannot guarantee the parentage or breed of cats on this site (unless otherwise noted that the cat is "purebreed"). Please note: if someone places a deposit on a cat/kitten to "hold" them until they are ready to go home, and the person changes their mind, the deposit is non-refundable - it is only refundable if the cat/kitten become unadoptable for some reason.

Donations are always welcome!
