Tabitha Pointer & Pit Bull Terrier Mix Berkeley, CA

Tabitha is a sweet girl who has come a long way. When she first arrived at the shelter, she was a scared little girl. Consistent work with staff and volunteers has helped her to blossom into a beautiful, happy girl. She has been socializing in the world outside the shelter, and loves it! She gravitates toward both dogs and people, wanting pets and attention from the latter. At the beginning of her stay in the shelter, Tabitha was scared of people, especially men. She has made significant progress with men and now seems comfortable with both men and women. However, we believe a female adopter would probably be best for this sensitive girl. And oh, how she loves walking down the street, socializing with the passersby! She absolutely delighted in her visit to Point Isabel-- how excited she was with all the dogs! She was on-leash because of shelter protocol, but Tabitha, who responds to her name and is ever wanting to please, shows all signs of being a good off-leash dog after getting acclimated to her surroundings and guardian. The dog you see in the chaotic kennel is vastly different from the dog you see when she is out in the fresh air and sunshine. In short, Tabitha is a love.
