Okay you got me, no I am not a Basset Hound but by some glorious divine intervention I was picked up by a HHBR volunteer and have landed myself smack dab in the middle of houndville. My foster mom found me sitting in the middle of a rural highway. How could she not stop and pick up my sweet self?! I am pretty skinny and Mom wasn't going to leave me there to just fend for myself. So I've made my way right into the heart of the best place on earth...HOME. Yep that's right I have a Home, even if it is just temporary. A roof over my head, great treats, other dogs and cats to play endlessly with, a bed to sleep on. I know right the high life. Mom and Aunt Jess'e have given me the name Lena and I think it fits me just right. A cute name for a cute pink nosed Pittie girl! I am right around...

I am not one of those overly active pups though and truly am here to be your best friend. We have lots of other canine brother's and sister's here for me to play with and it's been a blast. I do have a bit of a resource guarding, hey do you blame a woman who's been hungry for quite some time. But it's nothing that can't be helped by just kindly placing me in my own area for meal times. I am working diligently on house training and have pretty much got it down, so I will just have to go to a home with a regular schedule and a kind gentle reassurance while I learn your schedule. I am UTD on all vaccinations, Heart Worm tested negative & on monthly preventative, de-flead, de-wormed, and altered!

Please remember Every animal for adoption through an Hounds Haven is fully vetted for their age and only needs routine preventive care. Dogs older then 6 months of age are heartworm tested! All dogs are kept on heartworm preventative. Every hound is vaccinated (age appropriate), microchipped, and de-wormed, in addition to being spayed/neutered.

All Hounds are also placed into homes with a 30 day Health Insurance Policy through Shelter Care Pet Insurance



We are asking for interested parties to fill out a pre-adoption questionnaire prior to us lining up an appointment for them to see the hound(s) at the hound(s)' home.
