Meet Honey

Honey is a tri-colored Bassett Hound that was picked up as a stray from the northeast side of town. She's mostly short-haired, but she has unique areas of medium, wispy hair. She is very pretty, definitely have not seen a Bassett that looks like this one in quite awhile. She has a friendly demeanor and is very eager and ready to be placed in a new home!

Adopting a dog from the Conway Animal Welfare Unit is a fairly easy process. The first step to adopting an animal is submitting an application. The application allows us to individually consider applicants and helps us to properly match our pets with new owners. We want to make sure that our pets are going to homes that are ready to provide for these pets long-term. If you are a city of Conway resident, our adoption fee is $20. Your adoption will come with a voucher that will allow you to have the pet spayed or neutered (this is a REQUIREMENT of adoption). The voucher is worth $120, any costs associated with the surgery that exceeds this price is the new adopter's responsibility. As with any shelter animals, health is not guaranteed but we do our best to screen out those animals that are showing obvious signs of illness or disclose that information prior to adoption. All dogs are heartworm tested upon adoption.

If you are interested in adopting a dog and you reside OUTSIDE the city limits of Conway, the cost is $70 which includes a spay/neuter. The spay and neuter can only be performed at Vilonia Vet Clinic or Mayflower Vet Clinic. The other option is that you provide us with proof of a pre-paid spay or neuter at YOUR vet of choice. That is the only option for those who are out of state or out of area.
