Cheech is a tiny male Chihuahua, Miniature Pinscher or Rat Terrier mix, 8 lbs. and approximately 1 year old.




Cheech is a sweetheart who is learning to be independent. He loves being close and cuddling with people. He will fasten his body to yours as soon as you pick him up and nestle his head deep under your chin. He looks up to you frequently to catch your eye as if to say I love you. He is starting to play with other dogs, both big and small. His favorite sleeping spot is his foster mom's extra pillow! It took Cheech a while to come out of his shell, but he now loves greeting all of the people and animals at his foster's household with eagerness and excitement. He is finding his voice to play but is not yippy at all. When bigger dogs get pushy with him, he will set limits but is not aggressive, and when he's very nervous he'll ask to be picked up by reaching up to his person.




Cheech loves going on walks even though he is still a bit anxious on a leash. He's much more comfortable when walking beside you. In the car he prefers being on his foster mom's lap, but is very respectful when he is put in the back seat or in the passenger seat. He lays down and doesn't pace at all in the car. He is learning “sit” and “cross” for crossing streets during walks, and he loves jumping into the car for rides.




Cheech will bond instantly with a gentle, very loving and attentive person. His tiny size makes it easy for him to accompany you most anywhere--as a travel companion, dining partner, shopping partner, cubicle cohort, you hiking with him in a backpack, in your purse while shopping.




A calm environment with someone who can be around most of the day would be best. If you enjoy and would benefit from constant companionship, you will have found it in adorable and adoring Cheech!
