"Look out! Here comes Shelly!!" I hear that all the time and then they laugh at me. It makes me sad when that happens. OK, here's my story: I am Shelly; a very large and overweight calico cat who grumbles and growls about everything. I am a spayed female and I am about 6 years old. I have been at Cat Welfare since July 2009. I have never been adopted and the reason is because I am antisocial most of the time. I just can't stand all these cats all over the place. Most of the people here are OK, but unfortunately the cats put me in such a bad mood that I end up growling at the people, too. Some of the people here have figured out that I'm not that bad of a cat, and they try to speak to me with kindness and I will let them pet me a little bit. I feel that I just never fit in and no one understands me. I often dream. I hear so many stories of people who love cats and who have great hearts and homes that they like ...

I have a deep desire and wish to find such a person with such a home. I would love to be an only cat and to feel as though I were the queen! Maybe you are a person who needs a friend who challenges you. I am not easy to live with, but I think there are people out there who are patient and kind and who would care enough about a lost soul like me. Things change and often for the better. I keep dreaming.
