Beagle Mix: An adopted dog in Ventnor, NJ

George is a 10 yr. old, 50 lb. beagle basset mix that spent the last 5 years in a wonderful home with another beagle named Molly. Due to unforeseen medical conditions within the family George was surrendered back to Penny Angels. He was rescued from a shelter in Georgia in 2005, and that is how he got his name. He is a well-behaved boy that loves attention! He is housetrained & walks well on a leash. True to his basset nature, though, he can be stubborn at times. He gets along okay with dogs that are smaller than him, but is not particularly fond of bigger dogs. He does not bark a lot and has medium to low energy, but he still likes to play!

George is neutered and up-to-date with his vaccinations. He receives monthly heartworm preventative (Heartgard) & flea/tick preventative (Frontline). He was heartworm positive over 5 years ago before he was adopted, but received treatment for heartworms at that time and has not...

His long basset ears make him more prone to chronic ear infections, but that is easily controlled with ear cleaning & ear drops. During the summer, he sometimes gets hot spots on his skin, possibly due to allergies, but a nice oatmeal bath & anti-itch spray help to remedy this seasonal problem.

George is such a nice, older boy that deserves to live out the remainder of his days in another home where he will be loved. He would be better suited to a home with older children due to his age, but he would be just as happy in a home with only adults.
