Rottweiler/Labrador Retriever Mix: An adopted dog in Glen Haven, NS

Hi everyone! My name is Sammy and I'm a 3 year old Lab/Rottie mix. I'm a big girl and weigh about 78 lbs but I love everyone I meet! Sadly my family couldn't keep me because of allergies but I know they were heartbroken to have to give me up so that's how I ended up with the girls at ARC. Right now I'm not having much luck because my foster parent's daughter fractured her ankle and now with her on crutches I have to move on once again, but hopefully I won't have to move much more and I'll have my forever home. We're not sure which home I will go to next but they will keep everyone updated on how I am doing. I am a very energetic girl and I like to jump and bounce to greet you because I always have a smile on my face and want everyone to know just how great I am. I am learning that some people don't like a 78 lb dog jumping and bouncing to greet them so I'm trying my hardest to not do...

I am learning that some people don't like a 78 lb dog jumping and bouncing to greet them so I'm trying my hardest to not do that when I'm told "no". I've been resisting now and again however hehe. I'm a very smart girl so breaking me of this bad habit shouldn't be a very difficult thing to do. I love to play fetch and will play for hours! I also love the water! If there is water.....I'm in it! Swimming and playing fetch are my favorite things to do in the whole wide world! I walk well on a leash and have also been walked using a gentle leader. Since I am such a large girl I am best suited for a home with kids older than 10 with a large fenced yard. I am a very active dog so I require structure and obedience and someone to exercise and play with me daily. I do bark when people come around but it is only to let my owners know that they have company. I do not chew and am not destructive in any way and I am also kennel trained so I can sleep there at night if you want me to. If you think you are the family for me please fill out an application.
