Meet DAISY - LOCAL (EC)

Meet Daisy!

Daisy was adopted - she's now returned - we are making it our mission to find her the best home - what we've learned- she would do best in a home without alot of "goings on" - some place without alot of commotion. She did wonderfully with her adoptive family but when the family started having people coming in and out to visit, she did not adjust well to this. This was our fault - we should have known this about her ahead of time.

Daisy is a young female GSD mix, approx. 55 lbs and stunning in person. She is 100% housetrained; she is up to date on her vaccinations and is heartworm negative at last testing; she is spayed.

A home with cats or small animals will not be considered for this dog.

Foster home update:

Meet Daisy! An adorable love bug of a dog, she will do anything for a good belly rub! Daisy loves her toys (especially if they squeak..loud)! She is energetic and very smart. Agility? Running and hiking? sign her up! Anything to please her humans! This girl could run and play all day! But has no problem snoozing by your feet either. True to her breed, she is alert and protective of her environment. She is learning manners and rules everyday and would need a family who can be consistent with both love and discipline. Daisy's friends? She prefers them laid back and playful, and hopefully they don't mind that she thinks all toys are hers, she's working hard at learning how to share. We think she would prefer to be an only dog but has shown to adapt well to living with another. Daisy has not yet been tested with children, but as long as they know how to tell her "NO" then she should be fine. She walks well on a leash on the road and is currently trained to an Invisible Fence. She always comes when called and sits for everything..maybe it will get her a cookie? Being the Diva that she is, grooming is always at the top of her list. Great for baths, blow dry, brushing and even nail trimming/grinding! The more time you have for her, the happier she will be! Are you Daisy's soulmate?

The adoption donation covers all pre-adoption vet costs (vaccinations, spaying/neutering (when age appropriate), heartworm testing/treatment when necessary and includes transportation up to New England ($125.00 per dog). Unless otherwise stated, all of our dogs are located outside of Rhode Island boarded either at one of our vet clinics or in foster care. If a dog is listed as "local, he /she is at one of our foster homes in New England.

PAWS of New England is not a shelter but a rescue and thus is not funded by any city or state organization - we rely solely on the donations of our adopters to help defray the costs associated with saving these precious lives.

We are often asked, "Why would you charge "so much" for a rescue pet? Why not just place it in a good home?" The answer is because we need adopters who are willing to support all rescue pets, not just the dog they adopt. A young, healthy dog might cost us $150-400 in (discounted) vet care, and many people will want to adopt it. An older one with health issues can easily cost $500-1500 in veterinary expenses, and it may require months of foster care for rehabilitation; yet we can only ask a minimal adoption fee, and it may be a long time until anyone comes forward to adopt it. Fees from the younger, more adoptable dogs help offset the cost of caring for the others. Most of our dogs have a sad story to tell, and some have suffered through years of neglect or abuse. We hope that you too are willing to give an opportunity for a better life to ALL of our dogs by supporting them through adoption fees. Without these funds, our rescue efforts would not be possible.

ALL KNOWN INFORMATION IS LISTED HERE. We do our best to give accurate information, but most of our dogs are rescues and do not come with a known history.
