Meet Justice

This is Justice. Justice has touched our hearts in such a powerful way that we could only place a meaningful name on him. Justice is only one heartbreaking example of the inhumane way that some people treat our companion animals. So Justice is what we hope for; not only for our dear boy for for the many other animals who have been abused by our fellow man. We were on our way to pick up a fawn female from a locale shelter when we were notified that a second male Doberman was now at the shelter. We were told that he had completely shut down and needed to come out immediately. Nothing prepared us for what we found. Usually we find an emaciated, worn and torn Doberman who looks like they haven't had a good meal in months (if ever) but nonetheless are so excited to see us when we arrive. Justice was not at all thin. But the "get me out of here exuberance" that we're usually greeted with wasn't there either. Justice had no life in his eyes. He barely looked at anyone passing his pen. He walked out of the shelter seemingly unaware that he was feeling sunshine on his back, breathing fresh air and being loaded into a nice cool car with soft bedding for him. He allowed us to pet and inspect him but didn't seem to know or care that we were there. Justice has severe scars about his face and chest. We sincerely feel that he was offered up as a bait dog to train a fighting dog. Justice was completely passive to the other Doberman that we loaded with him. She even snapped at him when he accidentally invaded her space and he just turned away. We can't tell you much about his personality because he has none at this point. Its buried away with all of his spirit in his sad heart. Justice is still intact and we sure that tests will show he is heartworm positive as well. He's scheduled to be neutered soon and will have heartworm treatment if needed. Other than that, what Justice needs most is time and TLC. We've never really seen a boy this broken down in spirit so we can only guess how long it will take for him to come around. But we have promised to give him the time he needs and our hope is to have another happy ending somewhere in his future. Please watch for updates for Justice.
