Bear is a really special boy.  Although he is shy at first, once he's comfortable and knows he's safe he'll want to be by your side at all times.  He'll nudge you gently for more attention and lean in while you're petting him. Bear is very intelligent and would be a star pupil in any training class.  And after he's gained some confidence, he'd be a great agility candidate!  
After a long time in the shelter, Bear is currently in a foster home where he's quickly learning how to be a dog! He is absolutely thriving in a home environment, gaining more and more confidence with each day. He loves rides in the car, adores going to the dog park with his pals, and finally conquered his fear of the stairs! He's well on his way to becoming the dog he always wanted to be. We're so proud of him.
One of the things we've learned about Bear recently is that he learns by example. We think he'd do particularly well in a home with a confident, playful dog who can show Bear that life really isn't all that scary.
