Labrador Retriever/Pointer Mix: An adopted dog in Oak Creek, WI

Skipper is being fostered in Milw.,WI. He is a one year old lab mix (not sure with what, the Pointer is a guess) that weighs 46-50lbs. with longer legs. He is on the calm side for a young lab but does love to play with other dogs even the little ones.

Skipper has been command trained: sit (hand signal= flat hand, palm going up), shake paw, lay (hand signal= flat hand going down) . Will "stay" in a lay position and wait until "ok" to eat food.

He is good on a leash if the walker is assertive from the beginning. Will only pull if you let him. Sometimes gets excited over squirrels/other dogs barking. He would be well with children 5+ if they aren't afraid of a big dog presence and firm with him. He LOVES to play and sometimes doesn't realize when to stop. His life is all abour playing, chewing on bones and toys, and being around people. He likes someone to follow around, lean on, and lay at...

Skipper is crate trained and has never had an accident in his foster home. He's a sweet soul that just wants a family of his own. He's a typical happy lab that likes to play, go for walks and have fun! Check out the cute video of Skipper playing fetch.

This is what Skipper's foster "Dad" had to say about him: I that Skipper would be a great dog for a 6-12 age child who needs a loyal friend and someone to play with. He loves attention, is content sitting at your feet, and sleeping by the edge of your bed. I really think he'd be fine with kids as long as they were taller than him. He's so calm natured- sometimes our dogs will come up to him while he's eating and just starting eating his food and he does nothing except watch.

Skipper is neutered, current on Rabies, Distemper, Bordatella (kennel cough) and is Heartworm negative (started on a preventative) and microchipped. On July 10th Skipper had a full vet exam and negative fecal exam. He is being fostered in Milwaukee, WI. Adoption amount is $100.00 Please note we only adopt to people that live in WI.

PLEASE NOTE: We only adopt to people that live in WI and are over age 21. All of our dogs are vet checked, many are ready for life with families of any size but not all. Some will have age restrictions with children if we don't know the dog's history with children or for other reasons such as activity level. We always place the dog in the home that is the best match for that dog. All dogs currently owned must be spayed or neutered and up to date on vaccinations and Heartworm testing. We have foster homes located in many areas of the state & only adopt within WI.
