Domestic Short Hair/Tabby Mix: An adopted cat in Liberty, NC

My friend and TCR volunteer, Richard, has given Rocky the nickname 'Wonder Cat'. Why? For all that this handsome grey tabby is an outgoing, talkative and playful fellow, he loves to walk on a leash! We have a great time with him at adoption fairs, walking around and greeting visitors. Rocky is definitely a fun furry ambassador for the cause of homeless animals!



Born around January 2009 Rocky spent most of his life in a cage, until TCR rescued him from a hoarding situation. You can tell he is ecstatic to finally be free and interacting with people and other cats. Rocky is a good-sized fellow, weighing in at over 11 trim pounds of lean muscle. In fact, if you lie down on the bed, he'll start at your ankles and rub all the way up to your shoulders. Ever the social guy, he likes to help his foster mom do her Pilates exercises and especially likes 'helping' with the laundry. He is also a talkative chap, happily carrying on a conversation when you talk to him, and he won't hesitate to call out to get your attention. Rocky spent enough of his life in a cage being ignored most of the time; he certainly doesn't want that to happen again!



He is very playful...and actually plays a little too rough for many cats. He'd love to have a playmate who really likes to rough-and-tumble. He also seems fine with large dogs. While in another foster home for a short while, Rocky had the chance to visit with a large parrot, I believe it is a Macaw, and they did great together! Thanks to having spent his early life alone in a cage, his skills interacting with other cats were rusty at first, but he is doing much better and continues to improve daily. It's also funny to see this rough-and-tumble fellow quickly back down from any cat standing up to him, even the smallest female in the group.



He is is vaccinated, vetted, wormed, neutered, microchipped, FeLV/FIV negative, and has had his teeth cleaned. His adoption fee is $75 thanks to sponsorships.
