Meet Barrett-ADOPTED!!!

*Barrett would LOVE a new home or foster home. Please consider being a foster mom and dad to a pet in need. It is a very rewarding experience.*

Hello, I am Barrett. I am a wonderful a 2 year old male Whippet/Chihuahua mix. I weigh 14lbs and am at an ideal weight. I am very loving to my owner and quite the charmer. I am crate trained and fully housetrained -- I hit the door knob with my nose when I need to go potty. I get along with the other dogs in my foster home, but I have not met any cats yet. After I am comfortable with the new dogs in my home I will play with them and I enjoy a good game of chase. I enjoy attention and cuddle time. I am a little stand off-ish with strangers and new dogs, but I warm up quickly and love to please. I am said to be able to jump a 4-foot fence, however I have not jumped my foster mom's 4-foot fence. I have wonderful listening skills and obey commands well. I am quite athletic and would probably do well in agility or fly ball. I take my treats very gently and when I come up to say 'hi' I am gentle about that as well. New situations are a bit overwhelming, but I do adjust well and settle in. My foster mom absolutely adores me and says I am a WONDERFUL companion. I walk wonderfully on my leash and ride well in the car. I am really an all around great little guy. I was in a home with a 7-month old and 7 year old, but I would do best withe dog savvy children 8 and older. Please complete the adoption application to meet me. **Please click here to complete the Adoption Application so we can meet**

Health & History: Barrett has had a wellness exam by one of our vets and is spayed/neutered, microchipped, wormed, flea treated, current on DHLPPC, Bordatella, and Rabies. Barrett's owners were unable to take him with when they moved and turned him into a WA shelter. NWIPR was asked to pull him into rescue so he is now awaiting a new home.

Adoption Donation: $295.00
Your adoption donation is used to care for the many dogs that enter into rescue. All dogs leave rescue vaccinated, sterilized, microchipped, wormed, flea treated, and medically checked out. In some cases they receive dentals, ear flush, cherry eye surgery, and so on to ensure that they are healthy and ready to be adopted. Your adoption donation is very much appreciated and needed to help care for the many needy dogs that enter into rescue. New adopters receive a FREE exam coupon at a local veterinary clinic in Lynnwood OR a $30 care voucher to a veterinary chain (so be sure to ask about these coupons if you are interested).

NOTE: Please do not email for more dog info. This is all the info available until approved application is received and then you can talk directly to that dog's foster home for further info. Thank you!

NWIPR's adoption process includes completion of an adoption application, a vet check, screening, in person meeting, a home visit and a lifetime adoption contract.

NWIPR is the pet's advocate and will select the most suitably matched home for the dog's general and unique needs, therefore adoptions are not done on a first come first serve basis. We reserve the right to refuse service and adoption for any reason.
