Collie/Shepherd Mix: An adopted dog in Garfield Heights, OH

Update 1-19-11: Lacey had surgery on one hip in August to correct hip dysplasia and is doing so well now that the vet doesn't feel that surgery on the other side is necessary. She has no exercise restrictions and can run and play with other dogs in the snow. Lacey is such a sweet dog--we can't wait until we can see her living the good life with her very own family!

Lacey is a one and a half year old Collie/Shepherd mix. She's really a true Heinz-57 so it was hard to come up with a breed mix for her. Lacey came to us from an overcrowded dog shelter in very poor condition. She was very underweight with ribs and hip bones easily visible. She gets along very well with other dogs but prefers to remain on the sidelines rather than getting into the chase and wrestling games. Now that she's feeling a little better, she really enjoys fetching a ball and is very good at it! For now, she's getting lots of TLC and good food. Lacey loves curling up on a cozy blanket in her crate after a good meal! She's a bit shy in new situations but warms up quickly. Lacey likes going for walks and does really well on the leash. She will sit for a treat and really enjoys those treats!

Lacey is spayed, heartworm-negative and on monthly preventative, and up-to-date on vaccinations. Her adoption fee is $150. All Canine Lifeline dogs are available for a 2 week trial period before the adoption is finalized to make sure it's a good match.
