Standard Poodle/Labrador Retriever Mix: An adopted dog in Indianapolis, IN

Hi! My name is Henry and I am being fostered in Georgetown, TX. He was pulled from a kill shelter in Texas.

Henry is 2yrs old. He weighs 45 pounds. Henry does shed but he is very willing to let you brush him and will gladly roll over for a belly rub! Henry already knows some commands. He will sit for anyone just to get a pat on the head or get a treat. He is crate trained and has a very calm demeanor. He loves to play with other dogs and finds a ball simply irresistible. Henry walks well on a leash. He does want to jump up but with continued consistent reminders he will soon learn that this is unacceptable....he just so wants to be as close to you as he can!

Henry was heartworm positive when we got him from the shelter but he has been treated and is now just waiting for his check up in 6 months. It will be very important for Henry to get his monthly heartworm preventative for the rest of his life. ...

Henry is truly a smart, gentle, loving dog who adores being with people. He does, however, have some food/toy aggression. His foster is working with him on this and making great progress. So a home with no children is a must....which is sad because I think he would be good with children....but not when there is food involved. He will however make a great addition to a loving home.
