My momma bought me some reindeer antlers and I don't like them one bit (they really embarrass me!) There are pretty white lights in the house and I love to look at them and lay by the fireside. I have been busy learning new things, such as "wait", "come" and "by me". I am a quick learner and enjoy "school" with my mom. I get to have her full attention and we get to bond. I like the bonding thing. Mom has re-introduced me to the crate; I eat my meals in there and stay in there for short periods of time without a fuss. Mom says we are working up to longer periods of time, whatever that means! Well, as Christmas time nears, there is only one thing on my wish list this Christmas and that is for a family of my very own. I wrote Santa a list expressing my wishes- I just hope he hears me! I am a very cute boy and healthy too; what's not to love? I play well with other dogs and love spending time with my foster folks. Did I mention I walk well on a leash and enjoy car rides? And I LOVE giving kisses. Take one look at my squishy face and I promise you will fall in love! Please help make my Christmas wish come true! Love and kisses, Theo 11/2010 Hello all and Happy Thanksgiving! I have been in my foster home now for 5 months and I anxiously await the family who will adopt me and take me to my forever home. I am a strapping boy who loves to play, eat and take naps. I behave great inside and do not require crating, but don't leave out your favorite book because I might decide to read it too! My foster mom and dad are working on getting me to socialize a little more among strangers; it is working out well and I am not as nearly afraid of strangers as I used to be. I walk great on a leash and love to go jogging with my dad; I stay focused and don't even stop to sniff bushes or mailboxes! I am a real charmer and will be very thankful to find my forever family. Is that you? I give the best kisses and will be your best friend! Please check out the website and submit an application with my name at the top. You will not regret your decision. Love and kisses, Theo
10/2010 Happy Halloween!!!! Fall has arrived and I am so happy I can finally play outside for longer periods of time without panting my head off! I have had a very busy month meeting new neighbors, going for car rides, and checking out PetSmart. I found that I actually enjoyed shopping and I made sure to behave myself the entire time. I thought I would have a home of my very own by now, but I am still looking to find the perfect family. I prefer to hang out with the ladies, but like men too once I get to know them. My foster dad and I are best buds...we go running, play ball in the yard, and snuggle together at night. I am a good boy during the day and even get free roam of the house! My best friend is a 6-year-old female boxer; we play all day with our favorite squeaky toys (shhh don't tell mom and dad!). I also like to look out the windows to watch the world go by! I am 100% healthy and have had all my routine shots. Mom and Dad are working on my manners and I have learned "sit", "down", and "shake". My one request would be for a family to adopt me that would be able to continue my training and maybe even further my education. I am a good boy who needs a forever home. I will be your playmate, best friend, chore helper and snuggle buddy! What more could you ask for? Please consider adopting me; I promise you will not regret it. Love, Theo
9/2010 My name is Theo and I am ready for my next adventure...My new life with you! I am an active fellow, so I am going to need a family who can keep up with my adventurous personality. I am always up for playtime, so plenty of games like fetch, tug-of-war, and fun puzzle toys keep me happy and my mind active. I am a smart boy and would be the shining star of obedience class! I have learned a few commands, but would love to further my education as I am very eager and willing to learn. Plus, it would be a great bonding experience. Did I tell you that I am house-trained and do not have to stay in a crate when my foster parents are away from home? So, if you are looking for a healthy, happy-go-lucky boy, I am the one for you. Surf on over to www.blueridgeboxerrescue.com and fill-out an application to adopt me. You will not regret your decision. Much love, Theo
August 2, 2010: HI everybody; it's Theo here. I am sorry I have not written in a while, but I have been too busy learning new things, seeing new things and playing with new things. My new favorite thing to do is to come in from outside and settle on top of the floor vent. I love to feel the cold air blowing on my face and stomach! I am no longer scared of the silly noises that occur inside the house, although the blender is very loud and the vacuum cleaner still freaks me out. I like to look at myself in the mirror (Mom says I am such a handsome boy!) and give kisses to everyone. I even help out with kitchen clean-up. I am great on a leash and love to go for walks and runs. I enjoy car rides and like to stick my nose out the window. While I like to do all of those things, my most favorite thing to do is play. I simply can't get enough of it...but no worries, I know when to rest and I'll even nap AND sleep through the night. I have a lot of energy, but I am perfect in every way. I will be your very best friend; I won't talk bad about you or hurt your feelings. Pick me. Choose me. You will not regret your decision. Woof! Love, Your Friend, Theo
June 28, 2010~ Hello everyone; it's me, Theo! I am loving my new foster home and really getting used to living inside. I have become accustomed to most indoor sounds; the hairdryer and toothbrush don't scare me anymore. I am a good boy and I LOVE to play!! My favorite game is tug-of-war with the rope. My foster dad is also teaching me to catch balls and I am having fun doing that. I still go for walks and runs, but I have settled-down a little in my new home and do not have to go as often. Did I tell you I am awesome on a leash? Mom bought me an EasyWalk harness, but Dad only uses my collar for runs; either way, I walk like a perfect gentleman (Mom said so). I visited 2 vets last week- at the first vet I got all of my shots and left there with a clean bill of health, except for a slight ear infection, which is currently being treated. The trip to the second vet was for an emergency- I started to itch really bad and my eyes were so swollen I could barely see. The doc said I probably got stung by something in the yard an had a pretty nasty reaction to the sting. She gave me a shot, watched me for an hour, and then I was on my way and back to normal the next day. I am still learning new things and Mom is trying to teach me "wait", but I havn't mastered it yet. I love to play and I am very cute! I need a lot of exercise and need to learn more commands. If you need a running partner and are willing to teach me more new things, then head on over to the website and complete an application. I promise you will not be sorry! Woof! Love, Theo
6/15/10~ Greetings everyone! My name is Theo and I am happy to be out of the shelter! My previous owner could no longer care for me due to his health, so he took me to the shelter. I was finally rescued last week, and boy have I learned a lot! I have experienced the indoors and all the unfamilar sounds associated with living inside- toothbrushes, hairdryers, washing machines, dish washers and televisions. Those things scared me at first, but now I am just very curious about them. I have a lot of energy, so my new mom and dad take me for walks and sometimes a run in the mornings and evenings. They keep telling me to "sit", but I haven't yet figured out what they are talking about; Mom says we have to keep practicing. I stay in a crate during the day and through the night; Mom tells me I do very well in the crate. I like it because she gives me a peanut butter treat! I have only been away from the shelter for a few days, so I still have a lot to learn. But...I do know that I am looking for a family of my very own that will love me forever. I am a good boy with a lot of energy who just needs more exercise than most dogs to minimize my energy level. Please consider adopting me and I promise you will never regret it! I mean, who can resist my handsome squishy face?
