If you like cats that have a kooky character, Sugar could be your girl. Sugar loves, loves, loves feeding time. She gets so excited that she cannot wait for food to be placed in her bowl. Often her head beats the food to the bowl, so she ends up with wet food on her head!!

Sugar and several other animals were rescued from a not-so-great home in West Virginia. In the spring of 2010, authorities were called to the house, seized the animals and re-located them to a shelter. At the shelter, Sugar charmed the shelter staff and quickly became a shelter favorite. Homeward Trails Animal Rescue was called to help and we brought Sugar to the DC area in July.

Sugar would love a someone or someones to love her, to provide her a safe place to snuggle, and of course, to supply her with that food she loves.

As said before, if you like quirky cats, Sugar is your girl. She will yap at you when she is hungry. Really, you can hardly step through the door after a day at work before she starts yapping. Once she gets to purring, watch out. She purrs LOUDLY. Around her foster home, she is known as the “Purriminator.”

Sugar is about 11 years young. She is a long-haired 4-paw declaw that loves to be brushed. She can be picked up and carried around. Sugar would do well as a single cat or she could be an addition to a home with another cat(s) as long as the cat is a dominant cat. Currently, Sugar does not live with dogs, but she has, so she should be OK with them.

Please consider giving Sugar the home she deserves. She will be a loving and loyal companion.

Personality: love bug, crazy for her cat food, yacker (especially if you’re too slow with the Whiskas)

The adoption fee for Sugar is $50.00, which helps with cost of routine vet care, as well as spay/neuter surgery.
