Alvin is a sweetheart of a dog who's had a run of bad luck. Found wandering the streets of Brooklyn, stinking and covered in mats, Alvin had obviously been fending for himself for a while. Thankfully, he was picked up and brought into the city's shelter. From there he was transferred to Waggytail Rescue and moved into a foster home where he's awaiting his forever family to find him. Weighing in at 6 lbs, Alvin's a teeny little guy who takes a bit to warm up to strangers, but will be your shadow once he gets to know you. He appears mostly house trained and only has a bit of trouble holding it at night. (Tiny dogs have tiny bladders that fill-up fast.) Right now he's doing well with access to a wee-wee pad. He gets along well with his foster family's three cats and seems to be shy/submissive of other dogs without aggression. He'd probably do well in a household that has tolerant cats, another low-energy...

Because of his size and some age-related grumpiness at night, he'd do best in a home without small children. Alvin's a senior guy who we think is about ten years old with a slight heart murmur but appears healthy over-all. His condition does not require medication. He's active and loving, and only needs very brief walks a few times a day to be happy. Next week he'll be going in for a full-dental cleaning and have pearly whites to show off with his great smile! He loves sitting on laps, flopping over on a comfy couch and "dancing" for chicken treats. Won't you come meet him?
