Macaw Mix: An adoptable parrot in Pineville, NC
This petite macaw demonstrates the need for rescue.
She was found emaciated, nearly starved to death. Her keel bone was very prominent and her chest was concave on either side. She had been housed with another macaw who would not let her eat, in an unheated garage.
Gabby has been fostered for about a year and a half by a loving family who has treated her as a cherished member of their family and flock. She is slowly learning to trust, to play, to expect good food, to know that she will be treated respectfully.
Because of her past, Gabby would not do well with the other birds at Parrot U. The energy level is too high. So she will continue to live with her foster family until she is adopted.
One of the pictures shows her as she looked a couple of months after she was rescued. The other two show her as she is now.
If you would like to meet this very special little girl, please call Parrot...
