Update December 7, 2010:  Bridget has ben adopted to a home in Davidsonville, MD.


Bridget is an older juvenile/sub-adult female eastern box turtle whose shell was badly damaged by heavy agricultural equipment last year. Although she is finished with all of her medication and her shell is on it's way to healing, the broken shell is still a little unstable, and she can't be kept on dirt or mulch yet. She'll need to be kept indoors and carefully monitored for another year or so before she can go outside in the warm weather. She may not be able to hibernate outside for years to come. She can't be kept with any other turtles for a very long time, due to her shell issue.
She's eating the diet recommended here:
