Duke - adopted Corgi & Cardigan Welsh Corgi Mix Hagerstown, MD

Meet Duke. He's about 2 years old. He was given to a friend by his owner but he started beating up on her old Corgi so he came into rescue. He was neutered, and given a lot of structure and had a brush-up on his recall command. He has thrived with the attention.



He is very people-oriented, and likes to please. He has been clean in his kennel pen and he loves to be brushed and will tolerate other yucky grooming tasks like cutting toenails. While we still don't turn him out with any of the other fosters, he gets along with our Border Collies.



We'd prefer to place Duke in a home with Corgi experience as he will need to continue his education in doggy class for awhile. Another dog in the home with a submissive temperament would probably be best. Because he has the potential to be bossy, he needs to be in a home with kids over the age of 12.



Duke has been brought up to date on his vaccinations, has been neutered, and microchipped. He is negative for heartworm, Lyme, and Erlichia. His adoption fee will help cover those expenses and is set at $400. If you're truly interested in adopting this pet, please

We check references and always do a home visit. We now have a transport available that travels from TN, through VA, and on to the New England states that dogs can hitch a ride on for a reasonable fee. See
