Boo Boo - UPDATE Tabby & Domestic Short Hair Mix Maple Ridge, BC

Boo Boo had become a reserved and humourless guy at the shelter. He probably struggled with living among giddy young cats and a few furry divas. He was adopted with Jill, another senior, and we've heard they're doing great. In fact, the family said, "Boo Boo has become a big love muffin." :) We didn't see that side of him but we knew it was in him!


BOO BOO'S ORIGINAL WRITE UP:

Boo Boo lost the only home he'd ever known when his person passed away. He had been an only-pet but had encountered other cats in his complex. His home and person were his whole world and it must have been hard to lose everything overnight. Yet Boo Boo sat calmly in a new-cat cage at the shelter and welcomed attention from a visitor who came to meet him. He delighted the visitor by tapping her hand with his paw each time she touched his paw -- an answering gesture that said a lot about how bright and responsive this big fellow is. He sat with the dignity of a magistrate as his photos were taken and he watched everything with a calm, intelligent gaze. Boo Boo is indeed a very bright, very big boy and an exceptional cat. Having spent his whole life with one mature person, he would probably appreciate the same kind of home again. The family of Boo Boo's former person described him as a rather independent character. (Boo Boo will, however, relate differently to different people.)

Boo Boo's new-cat cage was opened when he was ready to be integrated into his communal room. He came out for a bit of exploring but a little female put the run on him! Talk about David and Goliath! Poor Boo Boo scurried back into his cage and huddled in the corner. He's one BIG baby (about 22 lbs). He eventually found his confidence and likes to spend his days quietly curled up in one of the nests, watching everything that goes on. He's very good among the other cats but he'd probably rather not have so many roommates; it keeps his tension level a bit elevated. He'll probably let you know when he's had enough petting, and he'll appreciate your kindness and respect when he needs his space. If anyone is looking for a congenial companion to share their life, Boo Boo would be a wonderful choice.
