11/2010 Hello, hello - Shai is a happy girl. My heartworm treatment is over and now I can run and play again. I love to play in the leaves in the backyard and then stretch out for a nap on the deck. I am the perfect size... Not too big for your lap, not too small for your arms. I'm just perfect, and I love to be loved. I love to play with big dogs, small dogs, boy dogs, girl dogs. I'll even play with the cat if he plays nicely. I will play with big people, small people, boy people, girl people. I just love to play. But not to worry... I love to nap too. I do need some company so please don't take me home and shut me up in a kennel. I want to be near you and help you. I'll stay by your side and be your faithful companion, as long as you let me take my naps. A dog as cute as me needs her beauty rest, you know. Just look at my darling face - don't I just make you smile all over? When I get excited my whole body wiggles from side to side. Mommy calls it my dancing move.

Mommy says I am a good girl because I dont jump on you. I love to run and play for a few minutes before I retire on the couch to snuggle up and watch TV. I do love to snuggle. I prefer your lap but will be satisfied if I can be beside you on the couch.

6-23-10 Hi everyone Shai here. I thought I had a home ready for me, people and a boxer came to visit and we all got along famously however, my prospective mom ended up having to do some traveling for work and postponed bringing a new addition home until after her traveling adventures. SO that leaves me still searching for my forever family. I am a petite girl, seriously great apartment or condo size dog for sure, but if you have a home I dont mind that either. See I weigh in only at 40lbs and should not get a whole lot bigger. Everyone is amazed how small I am when they meet me, but see I was starved pretty bad in my past and that can stunt your growth so mom says that is probably what happened. But it just makes me more perfect to be that lap cuddler us boxers love to be,lol. I LOVE people and all attention I can get is just the best. I LOVE other dogs as well, big or small I love them all. I have many fur siblings here and have such a good time with them, however I love shadowing my foster mom wherever she is. Since being with my foster mom I have learned not to potty in the house (it took me a couple weeks I was only ever use to living outside so had to learn how to be an inside doggy), I have become completely crate trained but in all honesty I would prefer to be free roam in the house. Mom says that should not be an issue because I do not get into things I shouldn't well maybe the trash if it is left in plain view but I am just a chill little girl. I ENJOY going for walks and would even be a great running partner if your looking for that, but dont be fooled I do not need to run to be well mannered but I surely could keep up if you needed me to. I get along with cats in the home just fine as well. Very young kids tend to make me nervous but older children would be fine for me. Hopefully your looking for a wonderful, beautiful little girl like me to bring home, I can not wait to meet you! Love Shai.
5-8-10 Great with other dogs, older children ok,no young children, dog savy cats ok, crate trained (does need to be crated when left alone), sweet, loves to cuddle, very petite 35-40lbs, Adores every adult, energy level is about 5-6, needs a home with a fenced yard or very frequent walks if no fence, a home with or without other dogs is fine.
Shai has been in a foster home for a few weeks now, she is settling in great. She is doing great with housetraining now if she is let out regularly. She is doing wonderfully in her crate now and will go in with no hesitations and is very good once inside. Her appetite is great and I am positive she has gained some weight from the 33lbs she was when she came into rescue. Shai plays great with every single dog she meets, but even though she loves other dogs, she seems to adore people. She is not to sure of very small children they tend to make her very nervous but older mature children would be okay. She loves to cuddle, and will twist in half pretty much when she says her hellos to you, a perfect boxer "kidney bean". Shai loves to follow you around the yard if you go out with her, you will have her full focus. We are working on walking without pulling on the leash and Shai is learning very quickly. She is also learning Sit and Wait and coming along very nicely with both. While in the house she loves to just lounge around or cuddle with someone. Good things come in small packages I say and Shai is definitely a small package boxer. She is ready and waiting her forever home and to be spoiled for the rest of her life.

My life before now was not all peachy keen and I suffered at the hand of my previous owner, but the law caught up to him and that is how I landed here thankfully BRBR saved me before the shelter had to make a bad decision if I was not adopted. I have some healing to do right now, and time and love will go a long way. I can already tell my foster mom is going to help me out greatly in that department. I guess I will finally know what it is to be loved unconditionally. Shai (pronounced Shay) means goddess of fate--this girl will have the heavens on her side.
