Write up by his current owner: Fozzy Bear will be 7 years old on June 14th. We have had him since he was 8 weeks old. Male/neutered, black german shepherd. He weighs approx. 103 lbs but thinks he's a lap dog!! Very sweet. A home with no cats would be preferred as he doesn't like them very much. If there is another dog that would be okay as long as it's a bigger dog (over 50 lbs). He does not like small dogs as he has been bitten by 2 while out on walks. Because of this he is guarded while out on leash or in an unfamiliar/nervous setting like a vets office but if he is introduced properly to another dog he is fine to play with them. He has spent time at a kennel (up to 2 weeks) and does very well away from home and with animals he doesn't know. A home with older children (over 13 years) or no children would be best for Fozzy. Although he is gentle when he plays, because of his shear size he tends to knock smaller...

Although he is gentle when he plays, because of his shear size he tends to knock smaller children over. A large fenced in yard would be best. He loves going for car rides, walks, swimming...pretty much anywhere we are he likes to be. His favourite game is keep away - the more you chase him the better! He does still have some puppy tendencies even though he is almost 7....keep kleenex, toilet paper and cardboard boxes hid away as well as any food out of reach. He is very smart, and can reach things on counters. He stands about 5 feet 5 inches when up on his back legs! He is NOT a guard dog but will announce anyone coming to the dog and greet them with barking. When you let the person in, he immediately greets them with sniffs and kisses. Fozzy is completely house trained. He is crate trained, however he has not been crated in more than 5 years. He has the run of the house when we aren't home. He is a very smart dog and very willing to please. He loves to give kisses and to cuddle. He doesn't mind being brushed as long as you do a little at a time. He is scared of loud noises like gun shots, fireworks and thunder. He will look for a place to hide and will shake. His shots are up-to-date until Sept of 2010. I have his vet records. The only health related issue is he has anal glands that need to be squeezed. He does this himself by going into humping fits every once in a while. The vet has never had to squeeze them. He does not like his groin area to be touched but who does. I can pull his fur, ears, tail, shake paw, put my hand in his mouth, take away toys, food and treats without any issues.
