HARLEE Australian Shepherd & Coonhound Mix WARREN, RI

Hi everyone. I’m Harlequin, but everyone here calls me Harlee. I’m a coonhound-Australian shepherd mix puppy and I weigh about 35lbs. I look like a hound but I’m marked like an aussie. I was born on Nov. 1, 2009 so I won’t get much bigger.
My whole family (mom and 3 siblings) were put into foster care when I was only four months old. My first foster home treated me well, and there were lots of other dogs. I was a little scared but my family was all together and the foster mom kept talking about getting me a forever home.
In July my brothers, sister and I were told that we need to begin to search for the forever home and we were transported. Mom didn’t come. I was very confused and scared. I miss her.
I have moved twice more since that day in July. I no longer live with my brothers and sister. I miss and worry about my family all the time. I’ m a good dog I don’t understand what I did wrong.
By the time I got here I was really shy and scared. I no longer believed in humans and that forever home thing. My new foster mom sat me down and explained that being shy and scared was not allowed here. There are only four other dogs and two cats so I get lots of one-on-one attention and training. I’m housebroken, I come when mom calls, I love to go for walks with my new harness, and I’m learning to ride in her car. Mom gave me my own bed, but I like to sleep on hers. When I get up early I even get to play nice with the cats. I still sometimes get scared and worry, but I’m learning to trust and believe in humans again.
My foster mom explained that is still not my forever home. She says that the more I learn the less I’ll worry. She says that I’m a good dog and that I can stay here until I find my special human, my forever home. Can I give my heart to you? Will you be my special human? Do you have my forever home?
