If you know the story of King Kong, you’ll know why Kong is a fitting name for me. Like the King, I fought to survive and have a few battle wounds to prove it. Luckily, I was rescued from a hard life of living in a cat colony in the NJ Meadowlands. It was every cat for himself and I don’t know why, but I was the guy the others picked on. Being such a gentle soul, I took the brunt of it. I lost a few battles, one of my eyes and contracted FIV. But the joke is on them, since none of my conditions causes me trouble and I’m living like a king. I get plenty of love and attention now. My subjects find it irresistible when I climb on their lap to eat treats from their hand or when I affectionately rub my nose on their arm. I take delight in having my head pet and my cheeks and ears rubbed, but stay away from my back end please. I even still have that playful kitty spunk. It’s a grand time batting at a leather tassel dangling from a stick or one of the many toy mice living here. So there you have it, a great cat with a “Rags to Riches” story.
