True to his name, Copper, this handsome purebred Golden Retriever has a stunning Copper coat that is in beautiful condition-bright, shiny and flowing! Copper has had a somewhat difficult life prior to coming to GREAT and being rescued from an outlying shelter. He was scheduled for euthanasia but seeing the beauty beneath his unkept condition, GREAT took this boy from a frog to a VERY HANDSOME PRINCE!! Copper is five years and is one charming, gentle, fun-loving and tender boy. He is very, very sweet and prefers his humans over other animals but is friendly with dogs as well. One of his favorite pastimes is sitting at the feet of his foster parents while they watch TV. His one bad habit-he tends to be a counter-surfer-an obvious trait learned while leading his former difficult life where he was deprived of food, love and attention. Copper is house trained, crate trained, neutered, heartworm negative and in very good health. It appears that he might have been hit by a car in his former life since he has a small indentation on his head and a slightly crooked eye. But that doesn't take away from his handsome, masculine features-a real movie star of a guy who will warm every heart and even some feet on a cold winter's evening.. Copper will make a wonderful companion for a family that is home most of the time or one that would be willing to take him with them when running errands or traveling. He is a total love bug, very people oriented, a total charmer, very handsome and oh, so willing to please. He is learning basic commands and knows sit, stay and down now.
