Laddie is a Blue Merle Australian Shepherd mix. The update we received from Laddie's family is a joy to read. "My husband, Greg and I, had been “dogless” for 3 years since we had a new baby in the house and our hands full. Our oldest daughter Anna is special needs, she is 6 years old. She has a condition called mosaic Trisomy 18, or an extra 18th chromosome. At 6 years of age she functions more like a 3 year old. She has delays across every category and when we went searching for a dog we knew we needed one that would fit in with Anna. The first time we met Laddie, we noticed and improvement in Anna’s speech right away! She usually repeats works when talking to people, but when talking to Laddie she stopped this speech pattern! Laddies seemed to take to Anna right away and we knew that we had something special in the works. A few days later we officially adopted Laddie and made him part of the family! He is so wonderful with our girls, specifically Anna! We are thrilled to have him at our home. He is calm, happy and loves to chase the squirrels in our backyard. His foster family lives right next door, so he still gets to see some of his doggie friends and have “play dates.” Thanks for sharing such a great dog with our family!"
