UPDATE 8/15/2011: Sal was adopted but just returned to us. The complaint was that he wanted to come inside at 2am for food and then wanted to go back outside and his owners were tired of having to get up in the middle of the night. A simple kitty door would have solved this problem for Sal as he was a perfect house guest otherwise but they said that they couldn't do that. So, Sal needs a new indoor/outdoor home. Sal would do great with a cat door so he could come and go as he pleases. Unfortunately, he is now back at PetsMart in a cage. Please stop by and rescue this great big love today! UPDATE 6/28/2011: Sal was adopted but unfortunately ran into neighbor trouble again. Neighbors just don't like seeing Sal any where near their cats or property. Sal is terrific as an outdoor kitty who just enjoys an indoor place to rest and eat. We know there are people out there who have nice neighbors or some rural land for Sal to call...

Sal is at PetsMart waiting for you. Our adoption hours are Sat and Sun from 11am-3pm at PetsMart on Archer Road in Butler Plaza, Gainesville, FL. UPDATE 5/1/2010: Sal went into foster care last week and is doing well. He gets along fine with friendly dogs and another friendly cat. Sal would love the opportunity to be an indoor/outdoor kitty again but he would need a safe place to live. Please consider adopting the extremely loving and affectionate boy. E-mail us at spcagainesville@hotmail.com POSTED 3/11/2010: Sal was signed over to rescue today because he was acting like a normal cat. The neighbors were going to shoot Sal or sue his previous owner if Sal was found in their yard again around their car or boat. Sal's previous owner had to make him wear a shock collar to keep him inside the invisible fence. Poor Sal. He doesn't deserve such a rough life. Sal is a 7-8 year old huge adult neutered male kitty. He has had trouble with urinary crystal before and is on a urinary formula dry food but otherwise he is a very healthy guy and has had no recent urinary problems. Sal weighs in over 14 lbs. He is also a lover boy. Sal even tries to rub and make friends with his cage and litter box. This guy is very affectionate and will take no time at all to adjust to a new home.
