December American Staffordshire Terrier Mix Radford, VA

My name's December. My story shows how completely forgiving dogs are no matter what happens to them. Though I'm not the kind to dwell on the past, the volunteers said I should share my story so you'd know what an exceptional dog I am. I was found abandoned in a cold, empty house, left without food or water for a long time. As if this wasn't bad enough, I was shoved in a crate far too small & I couldn't move at all. All I could do was lie cramped in my own urine & feces. No one heard me crying for help. Eventually, I stopped crying. One day the landlord showed up. There I was too weak to even wag my tail. I was barely alive & rushed to the vet. My body temperature was critically low & the vet worked for hours to get me back to normal. I was also dehydrated & emaciated. I stayed at the vet for a long time to get my strength back. When I arrived at the vet I only weighed 21 lbs. Now, I weigh 43 lbs. The vet found cigarette burns all over my body. Despite being abandoned & abused, I'm the most loving, gentle & trusting dog. I love everyone & have the biggest heart. I'm always friendly & I like other dogs a lot! I wag my tail for the slightest kindness & stare at people adoringly. I'm healthy, 1-2 years old & am an American Staffordshire Terrier. I've been spayed, vaccinated & heartworm/Lyme tested.
