Labrador Retriever/Rottweiler Mix: An adopted dog in Garfield Heights, OH

Update 12-14-10: Jasper came to us last February from a rural county dog pound and is still waiting patiently for a home of his own! He had surgery in May to correct a floating kneecap and now is in tip-top shape. Jasper gets along very well with other dogs and seems to be housetrained. He's extremely devoted to people that he knows well so would be a terrific companion for a single person or couple. Now that his knee has been fixed, he'd be a great walking or jogging buddy. We'd love to see Jasper start off 2011 in his very own home!

A veterinary examination found that he had a luxating patella or a kneecap that moves out of it's normal location and can rub on the leg bone and cause great pain. In May, Jasper had surgery to repair this and he's now living a normal, pain-free life and is able to run and play with the other dogs. Jasper can be a little shy meeting new people but if you give him a chance, he very quickly becomes a loyal and devoted friend. Jasper's adoption fee is $150. Jasper is neutered, heartworm negative and on monthly preventative, up-to-date on vaccinations, and on Frontline Plus flea and tick preventative. All Canine Lifeline adoptions come with a two-week trial period to make sure it's a good match before the adoption is finalized.
